Description

Chinto, the 17th kata. It is thought that Bushi Matsumura created this kata. The name Chinto is believed to be named after a Chinese sailor and roughly translating to "fighter to the East." This kata is only performed in a straight line 45 degrees to the left of facing forward. There is movement in this kata consisting of pivoting on one foot up to 180 degrees. A kick in the air is also introduced in this kata.
